IPhoto Geometry Book:
I thought this was a great assignment. It was fun and easy to do. I think it would be a great activity to use in the upper levels of elementary. I could see it being a little complex for third graders, but it would be great for fourth or fifth grade.
It amazes me how much kids know about technology now a days. It might be easier for them to figure out how to use iphoto than learning the geometrical concepts. Because they might spend more time learning geometrical concepts than iphoto, I would make sure to cover everything before we even began iphoto. Maybe the iphoto assignment could be used as a final project to show what they have learned, rather than a method of teaching it.

I agree that this is a great final project for geometry rather than a method it to teach it. I also agree that i-photo might be easier for the students to figure out the program than learning the geometric concepts.
I never really liked the idea of the students using iPhoto. I felt it took too much time away from the actualy geometry shapes. You made a really good point about using iPhoto as a final project. I can see how that would work and it is something to consider.
